There is nothing like seeing a hummingbird hovering at a feeder, or listening to them fly through your garden. Depending on where you live you will get either the Rufas, or the Ruby Throated humming bird, with the Rufas, you will need a "BIG" feeder, with the Ruby Throated, a much smaller one. Invite all of them to "come and dine" with the feeders for to hang on stakes, feeders for your windows with up close viewing or even set up on your deck. Don't forget the water mister designed especially for the hummingbirds. they really appreciate a daily "bath" and this will provide just the right amount of water for their little bodies. The nectar receipe for hummingbirds is a 4 to 1 mix. Four parts of water to one part sugar. Boil the water, add the sugar, cool it and feed them. Keep the extra refigerated, and check the feeders on a daily basis. Who knows you may even get one to feed from you hand, if you can stay still and hold the nectar in you hand.
